The Gym

Led by 30-year veteran and world record holder Todd Christensen, Seattle Strength and Power is home to powerlifters and strength athletes competing at all levels, ages and in a variety of federations. Todd’s message is:

At Seattle Strength and Power the emphasis is on powerlifting and strength training. I don’t care if you lift 80 or 800lbs, as long as you show up and give it your best, that’s all that I ask. If you are interested in pushing yourself to new limits, come join us !I use training methods I have learned from my own 37 years of lifting, and from legends and champions of the past, and combine it all with the most modern techniques. Lifters that I coach hold national and world records in the USAPL/IPF, WABDL, and AAU. Some of them are also certified state and National judges for USAPL and WABDL. And they train for raw, single-ply, and multi-ply competitions.

  1. I am getting out of the Army in August. I live way the heck down in Rainier (just south of Yelm), but can travel. I will be going to school in Seattle anyway, so this could be the perfect fit. I trained a couple years with Ted O’Neill at Diablo Barbell in Concord, CA, and with Greg Panora while in college in Maine long ago. I’ve been poisoned by the bug for about 16 years now. I need to stay on it. If I can’t find a club by the time I get out, bad things happen. I would love to come in sometime, and love to get with a team that can help me get back on track. My last competition was way back in ’09, where I bombed. So, I have a lot of making up to do with the steel. Please feel free to email me anytime. I am already an elite lifter in the UPA and APF. I want pro. …….standing by.

  2. Hello!

The last time I power-lifted was in the mid 90′s and Willie Austin (bless his soul) was my coach. I would like to get back into it. I am now 58 years old and very serious about Masters’ competitions and just getting healthy as well. Please do contact me.

    Best Regards,
